Make A Wish!

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Check out these images featuring the new wishing tree and place cards from Hello Hanna! Don’t you wish you could climb right in and take a seat? Hello Hanna suggests using both for a bridal shower but I also love this idea for a Valentine themed party. You could use the wishing cards for jotting down love related resolutions for the coming year like; “can’t wait to meet someone to share my life with”, “looking forward to having a baby”, “Say “I love you” at least once a day”

The whole concept of a wishing tree is beyond brilliant and I love they way Hello Hanna has made it so beautiful and customizable. I pretty much love anything these ladies do! Have a peek for yourself here and check out their cute blog too.

2011 DIY Valentine’s Day Brownie Bags

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

*UPDATE: Download the latest version of the bag here. Enjoy and happy early Valentine’s Day to all!

Out of all the posts featured here on T&T, my Valentine Treat Bags have been by far the most popular. I know that many of you have been awaiting the updated 2011 version so without further ado, here they are!

Instructions are included in the PDF and if you need bags, I sell them in my Etsy shop. The bags are available in Craft and White along with the the Glassine Liner Bags to help maintain freshness for perishables and protect the paper from oil stains.

Just download the file and print directly onto the paper bag using a color ink jet printer. For more detailed instructions and other printing suggestions visit my previous post here. Once you’ve made the bags, fill with heart shaped brownies cut with a cookie cutter. Have fun!

I Heart It

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

With Valentine’s Day in the near future, I have hearts and the color red on the brain so this piece by designer Camila Drozd caught my eye! Created for self promotion and using only hand-lettered type, she created a bookmark with a list of a few of her favorite things.

The attention to detail is stunning and she did an exquisite job all around. I just love the paper wrap and the bright red bellyband holding it all together!

Say it with Jam + Nomination

I hope you all had a great week. I’m looking forward to the long weekend ahead. Sadly, I may end up having to work but I’m hoping I can fit in some of the crafts I’ve been meaning to make. If all else fails, I might just make some of these extra sweet PB&J sandwiches for the hubbs and I.

Also! I’ve been nominated for the Handmade Olympics over on the RikRak Studio for Favorite Blog with a Handmade Focus. Thanks to Jen Pepper of Pepper Sprout Design who nominated Twig & Thistle and to Tara of Scoutie Girl for selecting us as a finalist for this event. I couldn’t be more thrilled and honored! I’d love your vote (if you’re so inclined) so please hop on over to the RikRak Studio to place your ballot by February 18th! Thanks so much for those that have already voted for me. Seems I’ve got some pretty tough competition but it’s fun to be considered non-the-less.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone and an even better Valentine’s Day. Lot’s of love, Kathleen
