I’m so excited to finally share this project with all of you! I put this together for Fossil back in November and it finally made it’s debut yesterday in their “lookbook”section. I, along with five other bloggers, were asked to contribute a craft to be featured in a new DIY section of their site dedicated to Valentine goodies.

I ended up creating a twist on the traditional box of chocolates with this decorative heart. It’s made up of the candy cups typically found inside! In just a few hours and with several simple items, this is an easy project anyone can do. Make it even sweeter and pair it with a few sugary treats!

I’ve included all the details and instructions below. Also, be sure to check out the new Fossil DIY lookbook and enjoy the other crafts from Yellow Owl Workshop, Sterling Style, Creature Comforts, This Fellow, and News + Blues.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Foam Heart (I used a 12″ form and 1″ thick) Found at craft stores

Straight Pins

Standard Cupcake Liners (Approximately 175)

Thimble

Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

Ribbon

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Begin by folding cupcake wrappers in half, one at a time. To do so, simply pinch in the center with thumb and forefinger. Then fold again to resemble a floral shape and poke with pin towards small end.

2. Add a bit of hot glue to the back side of pin and insert into foam shape holding down briefly to secure. Continue process and work around entire heart, working your way inwards. The thimble is great to use if your finger starts to get sore but not necessary.

3. Once entire form is full, add a decorative ribbon to back side by securing to foam form with pins. May require 3-4 pins on either side to bear the weight.

4. Hang and enjoy!

I’ve always felt that you don’t need a fancy card or expensive gift to let someone know you love them. For me, it’s the little gestures that I always remember the most. In that spirit I present to you Valentines Day Fruit stickers!

<del>Just Download the PDF</del>, (for a limited time only) print onto sticker paper, cut out with a 1″ craft punch, and apply to your special someone’s favorite fruit. They’re sure to smile when they see what’s snuck into their school or work bag! I made stickers for apples, pears, oranges, bananas, passion fruit, blue berries and a general one for everything else! Enjoy, xoxo

I know it’s a bit early for all these Valentine’s Day posts but I can’t resist! I had so much fun creating this new bag for all of you that I just couldn’t wait to share! Plus, I wanted you to be able to have time to get bags, print, make goodies and fill with time to spare.

Inspired by all things sweet and love related, I created this little pattern and printed onto the bag directly from my Ink Jet printer. If you don’t have an Ink Jet or if your printer doesn’t allow you to print odd formats, you could always print the label onto sticker paper (found at office supply stores) and post apply it to the bag. Fill with cookies, muffins, a handmade card, or whatever it is that your special someone will enjoy. Download the file here and enjoy! xoxo

Perfect for projects like these or for other crafts and gifts the White and craft paper bags are available through my Etsy shop here in bundles of 25.

Here is another freebie just in time for Valentine’s Day. This graphic can be printed directly onto a paper bag for a quick gift or onto sticker paper and pasted to a box. However this is applied I’m sure the recipient will enjoy the treat inside! Instructions after the break!

Bake a batch of brownies as you normally would and using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out brownies. I baked mine in a 9×13 pan to get the most hearts out of one batch.

Download the bag graphic here and follow the directions in the PDF for printing. You’ll need a small 5×8.5″ paper bag. I now carry these paper bags in my Etsy shop and they can be purchased here (also available in white).

*I’ve recently updated this file for 2010! Please click here to download the file and see more images.

*Add a little more detail to the bag and scallop the top with a pair of pinking shears or rotary cutter.

*UPDATE: Download the latest version of the bag here. Enjoy and happy early Valentine’s Day to all!

As promised, I have a a Valentine freebie project for you to make your special someone this week. These little hand pies can be made with your favorite Apple Pie recipe or simply with some store bought pie crust and apple pie filling. (I chose to go the easy route for the sake of time.) *Don’t have a favorite recipe? Try this Cranberry-Ribbon Apple Pie from Epicurious. The cranberries would be a lovely hit of red for the occasion! Just be sure to follow the baking directions that I included, as cooking time will be less with the smaller pies. Below are the instructions for these pies and a printable PDF for the boxes to put them in. Click “Continue reading…” for the instructions and template.

Click here to download the template and instructions for the Pie Box.

Apple Hand Pie Cooking Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a Silpat (a nonstick baking mat).
