Kyong was kind enough to share more details about the amazing jewelry pictured above, that was loaned to her by the Royal Family of Nepal. From the bride: “The diamond and pearl jewelry set is an heirloom piece that was purchased for the family in the 1940′s in Calcutta from Hamilton & Co.”. I can only imagine how it must have felt to wear jewelry with such a remarkable history!

Today I’m thrilled to announce the beginning of a new weekly column here at t&t! I’ve been wanting to catalog all my finds at ffffound, an image-bookmarking web service, and what better way then to post them here! If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting ffffound you MUST check it out. The exclusive service allows users to post and share their favorite images and then recommend images based on what the user clicks on. The best part is that each user will have a uniquely different experience each and every time! I seriously can spend hours clicking from one amazing image to the next. In this Friday column I will post a portion of my ffffound trail with links. I hope you all find it inspiring and fun! So, without further ado, here is week 1…

I know I’m late with this but Nicholas Feltron has published his 2008 Annual Report!

For those of you that aren’t familiar, the Feltron Annual Report is a collection of statistics that Nicholas collects about himself throughout the year. He arranges the stats into perfectly designed graphs and charts. It’s what us nerds view as the perfect form of Information Design. Here are some pics from his newest report.

You can purchase your own copy of the report here along with the previous two reports. He has a folded version for only $5 and a flat version for $10.

What’s even cooler is that Feltron is building a site called Daytum that lets you make your own reports!

Besides the whole getting married thing, the invitations were my favorite part. As a designer I felt like I had something to prove by designing my own invitations so it turned out to be one of the most rewarding and intimidating aspects of the whole event. Needless to say, my husband and I love how they turned out and they were worth all the effort.

The Invitations, RSVP Card, Accommodations Card, Directions Card, Thank You Notes, and Envelopes were all letterpress printed on Crane’s 100% cotton Lettra Letterpress Paper by the very talented Bryce at Bjorn Press.

From top: Accommodations Card, Program, Dinner Menu, Thank You Note.

The Programs were off-set printed onto the same Lettra Letterpress paper by the lovely folks over at Quality Press using a metallic ink. I printed the Menus on a large format digital printer.

That’s it for our trip down memory lane! It was an amazing experience and I’m so glad I could share it with all of you. Have a lovely weekend everyone and Happy Valentine’s Day! xoxo

I will be the first to admit that I went a little crazy with all the little extras. But it’s what I love to do, and I had so much fun creating all the little details! Above are the guest room gifts we left for each of our guests in their hotel room. They contained a welcome note, hot cocoa packets, and homemade snowflake marshmallows.

I made coat check tags for guests when they arrived with perforated bottoms. The match books where also custom made by wrapping store bought matches and re-covered with my own design. And finally, sparkler holders in vellum sleeves for the send-off. The white cake with lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream frosting- YUMM! – was made by our dear friend Katie.

The Coat Check Tags and Sparkler Holders are now available for sale in my Etsy shop. And if you’d like to learn how to make the Guest Room Gifts, or the Match Books, I actually made tutorials for Style Me Pretty.

Below are some more pictures from our wedding last year held at the Novelty Hill Winery in Woodinville, Washington. This was by far the most stunning location we visited when looking for a venue. If you ever happen to be in the area I encourage you to stop by. Its understated elegance and modern architecture are breathtaking.

More Pics after the break!

Because both of us come from large families and meals were a big part of our childhoods, we choose to have a family style dinner at two long tables. My mother in law graciously made both the mustard colored runners while vellum covered candle lit vases lined the center of the tables.

More to come later today!

With all the love that’s in the air, it’s fitting that my husband and I celebrated our first anniversary this past weekend. I honestly can’t believe it’s been a year already! We both had so much fun at our wedding and I wish that we could go back and enjoy the day over and over. Thankfully we have our photos and I can look back as often as I like. Please join me on a trip down memory lane…

Inspiration board

To start, I thought I’d share my inspiration board that I created right after our engagement. It’s fun to see how this translated into the actual event. I picked yellow and grey as our wedding colors because I wanted something unusual and not overly feminine. My husband definitely appreciated this and was as equally excited about the color choices. Since our wedding was in February the yellow seemed like a good bright color that could add some warmth. The grey acted as a neutral tone throughout while silver added the little extra shine.

I have more wedding pics to come, along with our entire wedding stationary suite (my favorite part) so stay tuned!

I spent the better part of last week designing and printing our company’s holiday card. Considering that I had less than 24 hours to design and order the plates for letterpressing I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

We needed a simple card that could be customized with a personal note and mailed to our clients. The design is a subtle nod to holiday sweaters while celebrating the beauty of letterpress. I did one pattern with snowflakes and another with reindeer. Below are some pictures of the cards.
