One of my all time favorites, Shauna Young, recently announced that her husband launched Well-Groomed; a style blog for grooms. Darren has put together a fantastic resource for those style-conscious, detail-oriented gents that could use a hand in preparing for their big day.

I’m excited to see what’s in store for Well-Groomed and so far it’s a terrific source for wedding trends all from the male perspective. Well done Darren and thanks for sharing!

I recently discovered the work of Poppies for Grace and not only do I love what they do but the styling for these images is stunning! Alan and Sara are the designers behind the Poppies wedding stationary and they worked together with photographer Armel to capture their work beautifully. Love, love, LOVE! Undoubtedly, many of you have already seen these beautiful wedding invitations on Snippet & Ink and Oh So Beatiful Paper but in case you hadn’t I thought I share. Kathryn of Snippet & Ink was married this last December in San Francisco and her wedding was absolutely stunning! Every detail was executed brilliantly all while having that casual laid back sophistication – much like Kathryn herself.

I literally gasped when I saw her entire wedding suite! The subtle grey type on white paper with the bold pops of red are breathtaking! My favorite detail is the hand-edged red on the invitation and reception card along with the red hand-boardered envelopes. Today’s Well Sent comes from a St. Patrick’s Day-inspired wedding photoshoot by Rebecca Hansen. This beautiful event was designed around a green, white and gold color palette and 60′s vintage elements.

It’s a shame that now days the first thing you think of when you hear “Tea Party” isn’t actually a tea party. Well, in an effort to take back the term, I present to you a tea party hosted by the talented Alison Iven! A friend forwarded me the link and it was such a joy looking at all the details, I especially love the recipe cards and the labels for the homemade jam!

I’ve been trying to think of a new section to add to Twig & Thistle to keep things exciting and fresh here. The latest “Well Branded” series, where I highlight some of my favorite brands and identities, seems to be a big hit so I thought I’d try a new series called “Well Sent”. Well Sent will feature invitations, announcements and general correspondence in an attempt to celebrate one of our oldest forms of communication.

Our inaugural feature goes to this lovely wedding invitation for Christina and Bryan letterpressed and designed by Rabe + Company. Inspired by the wedding location, an old factory, and a few of the couples favorite restaurants, the invitation picks up some distinctive details.

I love the mix of bold type paired with classic filigree. The format is completely unexpected and modern for a wedding invite all while celebrating a times past.

Blog land is all a buzz with the announcement of Anthropologies new Bridal collection, BHLDN. While I don’t want want to be redundant, I must gush for a brief moment about one particular dress!

I wish that I could get remarried right this second just so I could wear the appropriately named “Pleated Fantasy Gown”! Even the light grey would have fit right in with our color scheme! I’ve already added every image to my Pinterest page right down to the detailed fabric shot! The site even has a video of the model wearing it so that you can view the dress in action. The pleats are even more magical in motion than I had imagined!

If you haven’t already seen the entire collection, you really must take a look for yourself. Earlier in the month, Erin of Apartment 34, went to New York for a sneak peek and you can see her behind-the-scenes photos on her blog. The collection really comes alive by seeing all the lovely Anthropologie details from the event as well. What a dream and I envy all you planning brides!

To kick things off here, I’m thrilled to finally share some projects I put together specially for the latest issue of Utterly Engaged! The goal was to create three projects that could be used during the wedding using mainly paper cups. I love the concept of taking inexpensive staples and transforming them into pretty wedding details. As we all know, weddings can add up quickly so finding ways to cut costs without it looking like it is a win win!

I ended up creating a simple wreath to be used during the ceremony or as decoration throughout the reception. By simply sliding the cups inside of eachother and securing with hot glue, this was a surprisingly easy craft.

For the second project, I wanted to create a centerpiece that would be both inexpensive and multi-purpose. I wrapped espresso cups in fabric and used them as planters for small plants. At the end of the event, guests could take these home and transfer them to their own gardens.

Lastly, 8oz. paper cups were dressed up with a simple paper wrap, filled with hot cocoa powder, marshmallows and adorned with a wooden spoon! Serve with hot water and encourage guests to warm up and take a cup home!

I can’t believe it’s already been three years but today marks our third wedding anniversary! To my sweet and adorable husband Joseph, I adore you and thank you for loving me!

Check out these images featuring the new wishing tree and place cards from Hello Hanna! Don’t you wish you could climb right in and take a seat? Hello Hanna suggests using both for a bridal shower but I also love this idea for a Valentine themed party. You could use the wishing cards for jotting down love related resolutions for the coming year like; “can’t wait to meet someone to share my life with”, “looking forward to having a baby”, “Say “I love you” at least once a day”…

The whole concept of a wishing tree is beyond brilliant and I love they way Hello Hanna has made it so beautiful and customizable. I pretty much love anything these ladies do! Have a peek for yourself here and check out their cute blog too.

The blogosphere was a buzz yesterday with the announcment of the new Style Me Pretty Magazine! I am a huge fan of Abby, she is after all why I started this li’l blog, but that’s another story. I am so unbelievably thrilled and excited for her and the SMP team! This seems like a natural progression and I can only wait to see what else is in store!

The premier issue is nothing short of perfection and a plethora of beauty! Page after page is drenched with inspiration from styling to gorgeous diy details. If you follow along daily, you’ll probably recognize some of your favorite weddings as the first issue features the best of 2010.

Before the year was out, I was asked to contribute a mood board for the latest issue of Nonpareil Magazine. My board (above) was then used as inspiration by a selection of designers, photographers and stylists to bring the whole wedding theme to life. The “From Farm to Table” concept began with french country inspired details paired with pops of natural green and coral tones along with rustic wood and burlap surfaces.

I was unbelievably thrilled to see the final results! It is such a honor to see my concept realized and interpreted by the team. The outcome is just beautiful and all the credit goes to the amazing crew that put it all together: The floral and event styling were done by the talented Rachel Bowes of Fitch & Thistle Event Design / Photography by Angel and Evan Carlyle of Angela & Evan Photography / Stationary by Iwona Konarski of Iwona K. Design / Fashion and wardwrobe was provided by Chrissy Wai-Ching of Wai-Ching Studio / Hair and make up was done by Teryl Hawk / The georgeous model was Kara Saidler.

One of the best details from my surprise birthday party had to be the invites and place settings. Katie hired Miss Danae, a completely amazing calligrapher! Her work is nothing short of perfection, just spend a few minutes (or hours) in her photostream and Etsy Shop, you won’t regret it!

As promised, I’ve got tons of pictures and details to share of my sister Laurel’s bridal shower. To match the invitation, most of the desserts were either pink or white. On the menu; a pink lemonade cake with sugar poppies (the brides wedding flower) I got from a local cake decorator, pink and white marshmallows, mini powered donuts, waffer cookies and peppermint knots. To drink, we had pink lemonade, blackberry IZZEs, Sophia Champagne and gin and tonics with a splash of grenadine.

For activities, I made a Couple’s Pop Quiz and custom cards for adult bingo. The main attraction, was a video my sister Allison made of Laurel’s fiancé answering a series of questions. Laurel then had to guess his response. It was so much fun and definitely the highlight of the night.

Lastly, for favors, I gave raspberry macaroons in boxes that I cut out on my SilhouetteSD. I was planning on making the macaroons myself but they didn’t turn out well (think Pepto Hershey Kisses) so I purchased some form a nearby bakery instead. I also made little cloth envelopes made to look like air mail envelopes with naughty scratch-it tickets inside.

All in all it was a great time and I was so happy to help see my sister off on this new chapter in her life!
