Today over on Style Me pretty Abby is sharing my latest DIY project on how to make inexpensive table centerpieces. With the help of a little paint and some flowers these miss-matched thrift store finds make for a bold and cheap focal point for a wedding or special event. Best part, once the wedding is over, you have loads of beautiful vases to give away as gifts and decorate your new home!

Hi everyone! Apologies if you tried to visit yesterday, apparently our server was down for the better part of the day. Looks like things are back up and running today – fingers crossed!
Anyhoo, exciting news! I’ve recently added two downloadable PDF templates to my Etsy shop: Twig & Thistle Store. First, by popular demand, I now have the Coat Check Tags available. Featured on Style Me Pretty, theses tags add the perfect detail to a wedding and a great way to add a bit of whimsey in the most unexpected place. Simply type in your names and wedding date, print and cut!

Second, the Sparkler cards are currently featured on Martha Stewart Weddings Online and both have also been featured on Style Me Pretty. Not just for weddings! Brighten up any event with these customizable Sparkler Cards. Great for New Years or random holiday cheer!

I offer both templates in 6 color ways and they are customizable so you can type in your own information then print and cut. The best part is that once you’ve downloaded the template it’s yours to keep and use again and again! I hope you’ll stop by and check it out. xoxo, Kathleen

I spotted this beautiful winter affair on my all time favorite blog, Style Me Pretty, yesterday and literally gasped with excitement. If Monday’s S’mores kits didn’t get you longing for hot cocoa and mittens then this surely will. Everything about this space had me clapping for joy. I can’t remember the last time I was so smitten so I had to share a few of my favorite details.

The space was put together by Barbara Salzman of Hatch Creative to celebrate the coming season and all the events that will be hosted there. Photos by Karen Mordechai. Be sure to click on the links above to see the rest of this amazing series.

I am so impressed with what Katie of What Katie Does made for the Travelling Moleskine Project. Something about the embroidery and the paper together makes such a breathtaking combination and the colors she used are equally beautiful. I’m so inspired now thanks to her! I could see some pretty holiday cards in this style or an extra sweet Thank You.
You can see more picks from Katie’s project on Flickr and be sure to browse her blog for other amazing projects.

My love for Style Me Pretty and Elum are both well documented, so when I found out that Elum made business cards for SMP, my heart skipped a beat! These absolutely gorgeous pieces look like they were pressed into clouds. Now all I need to do is to convince her to send me one

Today I wanted to share my latest in the box series that I’ve designed for Style Me Pretty!

Images by me
I was day-dreaming of a vintage candy shop when I created these. This set includes four different patterns so that you can mix-and-match or just choose your favorite. Fill them with sweet treats and they make the perfect favor! Be sure to visit Style Me Pretty for the full post and to download the templates!
For some other exciting news, Abby is featured in this months edition of Bride & Bloom. The article is a behinds the scenes look at Abby’s life as a professional blogger. Being the huge fan that I am, I just had to have a copy of my own. I picked it up over the weekend and to my surprise I discovered that Twig & Thistle received a little shout-out as well!!!! At the end of the article is a section of Abby’s top 5 favorite things for weddings right now and she lists the DIY projects and favor boxes that I’m creating for her!

I’m completly honored to be included in her favorites list. A BIG thank you to Abby for the mention and congrats on her continued success! Be sure to pick up a copy of Bride & Bloom for yourself, it’s a stunning magazine and the article is fantastic.
