Love this series of Get Together cards from Kathryn Whyte’s Etsy Shop. These would get used right up in my household!

I’ve been working on a new addition to the Etsy shop recently and I’m thrilled to be able to share with all of you! I wanted to create a unique Save The Date card based off of a matchbook. The covers are letterpressed in gold metallic ink onto light blue, pink or green stock. Inside, are custom magnets that are perforated at the bottom so they can be torn off and saved on a refrigerator.

I am so excited with how these turned out and have definitely been inspired by lace and spring colors! You can check out the new Save The Dates here – hope you like them!

Thanks to Oh Joy, I came across Michi and am utterly smitten! Kat Macleod is the genius behind this charming shop stocked with colorful little gems. I didn’t know I needed a set of colorful carpenter pencils but now I do! And a cute tote that reads “thanks very michi” – you bet! Even her watercolor postcards have me sprung!

In honor of the delicious Girl Scout Cookies that are undoubtedly making their way into our homes as we speak, I thought I’d share the most recent re-branding from Original Champions of Design (OCD). Since being founded in 1912, the Girl Scouts logo has maintained an iconic three leafed Trefoil but it wasn’t until the late 70′s that Saul Bass redrew it to include the positive-negative faces we’re all so familiar with.

The modernized version of the logo, by OCD, carefully simplifies and modernizes the girl silhouettes. The hair and faces were updated without loosing the charm of the original mark. Even the color green got a face lift and the type was set in all lowercase for more approachability.

My favorite expression of the brand are the patterns and textures that were created using elements from the mark. It’s a brilliant way to bring the brand to life while adding a sense of depth and whimsy to the collateral. Now, if only the packaging could get some TLC, it’d be a fantastic! Ever since the Kate Spade party at Alt, I’ve developed an affinity towards chunky black eye wear. While I’m not personally chic enough to pull the look off, I am still drawn to the bold graphic aesthetic this trend embodies.

Hence my love for the Envision Eyewear Identity and stationary system. I spotted this lovely collection on designworklife last month and keep going back to it. Sussner Design in Minneapolis is responsible for this clever suite. I love, love, LOVE the mix of pattern and clever crops!

Beautiful father and son collaboration spotted on Beast Pieces this week. This letterpress print was hand drawn by 6 year old Koen then digitally arranged by his father and printed by Studio On Fire. Lovely in every possible way.

Tad Carpenter is such a gifted illustrator and designer, I’ve yet to see work of his that is less than amazing. I always love seeing what he’ll do next, so I was thrilled when I saw these holiday cards and chipboard figures over on his blog. I mean how stinking cute are these?! You can buy 4 packs of cards or figures for ten dollars each, what a steal!

Another amazing DIY freebie today! Amy Moss of Eat Drink Chic posted this a few weeks ago but it seems fitting for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday here in the states. Delightfully sweet and equally as charming, this little “Love and Thanks” card is available as a free download through Amy’s site. Just Print, cut and fold!

Paired with a bouquet of flowers or dish of sweets, this would be the perfect card to add to a hostess gift or a simple greeting.

The kid in me is thrilled to see the latest edition of clothbound classics from Penguin featuring some of my all time childhood favorites. Sold separately but really, who could resist the complete set? Covered in colorful fabrics and embossed with coordinating illustrations, they certainly add a little extra delight to wonderful classic stories. Available at Anthropologie.

One of the best details from my surprise birthday party had to be the invites and place settings. Katie hired Miss Danae, a completely amazing calligrapher! Her work is nothing short of perfection, just spend a few minutes (or hours) in her photostream and Etsy Shop, you won’t regret it!

I stumbled upon the most stunning prints yesterday and just had to share. These watercolors titled Green Zen I + II were inspired by Buddha hands from Tibetan sculpture and medieval European religious paintings. Graphic designer and illustrator Andrea D’Aquino of New York is the genius behind this ethereal set.

Sold as a pair and describe as one being of the woman and the other of the inside of the woman. The colors are just stunning and I love the juxtaposition of the two.

The limited edition prints are sold through The Working Proof which is a site that pairs artists with a charity of their choice, to which 15% of  sales are donated. Andrea has chosen to work with the Shama Foundation which is a nonprofit organization providing education to children of Madagascar. Find out more and purchase them here.

Remember this adorable poster celebrating the couples baby-to-be? Well, they had their little one and this is the birth announcement. I have to say, this is hands down, one of the most beautiful birth announcements I’ve ever seen! Every tiny detail was thought out and executed brilliantly. Papa Allan Peters must be one proud dewd!
