Colosseo by Cameron Moll

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Happy Monday to all of you, hope you had a fantastic weekend! I wanted to start the week off with yet another beautiful piece of letterpress work. This replication of the Roman Coliseum was designed by Cameron Moll and entirely made up of type. This stunning piece of art took Cameron approximately 25o hours to type set. He thoughtfully used only characters from the Goudy Trajan and Bembo Pro fonts which are Italian and Latin type cases respectively. also in celebration of the poster’s release Cameron is also hosting a super giveaway, including 2 iPads, a limited edition martian poster and dribble invites.

These posters are available for purchase on Cameron’s site and come in either white or black. Interesting side note, Bryce Knudson of Bjørn Press who printed these also letterpressed our wedding invites – small world!

B is for…

Friday, April 9th, 2010

If you follow me on twitter you may have already seen a sneak peek of this but in case you missed it here are a few more images. This illustrated invitation was inspired by all things baby. My friend Tara Lee designed this adorable little note and I had the pleasure of helping her letterpress them.

We used the large Heidelberg letterpress at my office to print these and I think they turned out beautifully. The details held up really well and the impression is impeccable. Tara used the Eames painting vellum 120lb. cover in white and coordinating teal envelopes from Paper Zone.

Knowing Tara like I do, the shower will be equally as amazing and I can hardly wait to see what she comes up with! If you’d like to get in touch with Tara regarding freelance and/or custom work feel free to contact her through email at hello.tara.lee[@]gmail.com. Thanks so much for letting me share Tara!

Local Faves: Moxie Paper Goods

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Local Faves is an attempt to showcase some of my favorite local shops here in Seattle. Enjoy!

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

This weekend I stopped by Moxie Paper Goods, one of my favorite local stationary stores. They were kind enough to let me take a few pics and share them with all of you. There’s something about wrapping paper hanging from the walls and being surrounded by beautiful letterpress cards that just puts me in a good mood.

Moxie does a great job of organizing items through color and relevance all while making me want just about everything in the shop too. From paper goods to candles and adorable baby gifts, this little store is the perfect place to get inspired. If you happen to live in Seattle it’s definitely worth the visit otherwise, enjoy this bit of eye candy.
