Pretty Paper Lane

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

My jaw dropped when I saw these adorable letter-pressed houses on paper crave last week! They come as a kit by 1canoe2 and couldn’t be any cuter! The illustrations are just perfect with meticulous line work, rich colors and a tone of whimsical details. How perfect would this be for a housewarming gift?! They’ve set the bar pretty high with this initial set and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for their next neighborhood!.

Well Branded: The Chelsea

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Sorry I was MIA yesterday, I was recovering from our Oscar party and wasn’t able to schedule a post. We had a blast and I’ll be sharing more details soon but today I thought I’d share one of my favorite identities.

Mucca Design really thought of everything when creating this work for The Chelsea Hotel. Located in the heart of Atlantic City it’s a luxurious escape from the the ringing of slot machines.

Forget the soap, I’m stealing the the door hanger! I love the modern take on the classic mid-century aesthetic. I particularly like the versatility of the word mark and the monogram. They work beautifully together and are equally as strong on their own. If I ever make it to Atlantic City I know where I’ll be staying!

The Vintage Pearl Winners!

Friday, March 5th, 2010

I am so excited to announce the winner of the Vintage Pearl giveaway today, but first I’d just like to say thanks to everyone that entered. This was our largest participation to date and I couldn’t be happier. I’d also like to note that each and every response was so incredibly thoughtful and sweet. It’s lovely to read such heart warming stories of personal pieces you each own. As I mentioned, one name was selected at random and another was chosen by me as my favorite. You all made it pretty difficult to select just one but alas I had to narrow it now. So, without further ado, the winners are

Congratulations ladies, I’ll be in touch with you both soon.

Sugar & Sweets by Katie Kirk

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

I recently purchased this Sugar & Sweets Print by Katie Kirk and couldn’t keep the joy all to myself. I love Katie’s work beyond words and I’m ecstatic that I now own a piece of it. This image doesn’t do it justice, it’s even sweeter in person! The gold shines in the light and the details are immaculate! A girl after my own heart, she was inspired by Martha Stewart, Amy Atlas, Coppola’s Marie Antoinette and Willy Wonka. Swoon!

See more of Katie’s work at her design site, Eight Hour Day or purchase your own from her Etsy shop. Lot’s more great stuff to see!

On a completely unrelated note, Maggie of magchunk has put together a fun interview of me on her lovely blog. It was so sweet of Maggie to invite me to share more about myself and I had so much fun answering her questions! If you’d like to take a look you can read the full post here and I hope you enjoy it!

Alt Love No.2

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Part two of my Alt Love series: Here I’m highlighting some of the amazing people and their blogs that I had the pleasure of meeting at the Altitude Design Summit. It’s a long list so I’ve decided to highlight some each week and make it a short run feature here on t&t. Hope you enjoy and perhaps find a few new sites to add to your blogroll!

The City Sage

In light of yesterday’s post it seems only fitting that I would formaly introduce you all to two more of my favorite bloggers and Anne of The City Sage happens to be one of them.

Anne and Chelsea (of {frolic}) graciously rescued me from my lonesome self at the opening party and the three of us ended up spending most of the weekend together. Those two ladies are fabulous and Anne is just as sweet as her lovely blog! Filled to the brim with loads of inspiration both for your home and fashion you’ll never run out of loveliness on City Sage. Anne happens to be a chef during the day and shares some of her own recipes with us lucky readers as well.

I’m constantly impressed with Anne’s keen eye for design and color, case in point, and I love how every last detail on her site hangs together seamlessly. She’s also got mad skills when it comes to writing. She’s great at injecting her personal voice and humor into everything all while being completely concise.

Oh So Beautiful Paper

Another blog that stole my heart last year and who’s author I was so insanely excited to meet was Nole of Oh So Beautiful Paper. I was completely star struck when I got to meet her for the first time and I hope I was able to squelch my giddy enthusiasm enough not to scare her away.

When I was planning my own wedding, I found it difficult to find resources that featured a great selection of wedding invitations and other printables. There is a lot to sift through on the web and Nole graciously and meticulously filters it all for us featuring only the best of the best. From invitations to greeting cards to calendars, Nole highlights it all. I can’t remember ever seeing a single thing she’s featured that I haven’t loved and it’s her consistent finds that make me go back everyday.

I was shocked to learn that Nole actually works for the goverment in Washington DC. I had assumed that she was a graphic designer that specialized in wedding and invitation design. Turns out that Oh So Beautiful Paper is her creative outlet away from the office. She too has an exquisite eye and I know I’ll always be greeted with a bit of wonderfulness everyday.

Thanks to both these ladies for such a fun weekend and the never ending inspiration! Be sure to check out both The City Sage and Oh So Beautiful Paper if you aren’t already adoring fans like myself.
