DIY: S’mores Kits
November 2nd, 2009Happy Monday to all of you! I spent the weekend with my family celebrating my twin sisters 30th birthdays. We had a blast and I wish that we could have spent the whole week together. To celebrate the occasion I put together these little S’mores kits for everyone. There’s something about fall weather, a cabin and a fireplace that just scream S’mores. Besides, who doesn’t love Graham Crackers, chocolate and marshmallows?
I wish I could take credit for this fun little kit but I actually spotted this while shopping at Packaging Specialties, my favorite packaging store here in Seattle. They used clear accetate boxes to wrap up all the necessities for homemade S’mores and I just added a bit of baker’s twine to finish it off. The two bottom boxes measure 3″x3″x2″ and the top one is 2″ square. These would make a sweet guest room gift at a wedding or a nice treat for house guests over the coming holidays. Simply add a coordinating ribbon, roast and enjoy!

So cute. I love s’mores. What kind of chocolate did you use?
November 11th, 2009 at 8:42 am
Thanks everyone for your kinds words, I’m so glad you all like the S’mores kits! The chocolate that I used were squares from a standard Hershey’s Milk chocolate bar. Mmmm, kinda feel like a S’more for breakfast now….

I’m getting married next year and while the wedding will hopefully have some class, the rehearsal dinner is going to be one big country country “hoe-down” at my fiance’s cabin. Like you said, can’t have a cabin party without s’mores. What a great idea!

A friend of mine told me about this S’more Kit DIY idea; which is very elegant. They thought I should tell you guys about a complimentary gift idea. We hand-make personalized wooden marshmallow roasting sticks in three sizes (47″, 30″, 16″) to which you can add any wording that you’d like (nicknames, dates, special events). Of course, if you don’t want us to do it, you could make them yourself. Check out the website for more info. http://www.MarshmallowChefSticks.com

Love it! Problem is, I can’t find the acetate boxes anywhere and I’ve searched EVERYWHERE: Michael’s, Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby and even The Container Store. Where can I buy them?

Hi Linda, I was able to purchase mine through Packaging Specialties and I know they are able to take orders over the phone. I have also purchased them through Paper Mart which has a great selection too! Good luck and happy holidays!

Fun! I do these at parties a lot. I bring in a bunch of tall round vases and throw in pre wrapped mini Hershey’s, marshmellows and use bamboo skewers for the sticks. So much fun!
