I’ve had cameras on the brain ever since we got our new one. Now whenever I see something camera related I perk right up. Here are a few of my favorites from around the web. First is the cute little polaroid holder from nothingelegant. It’s just so clever and well done! Next is a charming photo I ffffound, I love how one can take two inanimate objects; put them together and instill them with such personality. After that is wonderful illustration from whatkatiedoes, I really want one to hang up in my office. Lastly is a picture of Holly Becker’s new camera which is almost as cute as the little polaroid like photos that it takes!

Stache Bash Part II

winners

As promised, I’m back with a few more pics from the Stache Bash we celebrated last week in my office. These 3 gentlemen are the winners! Each took home a prize ribbon and a moustache key chain – never to be without some face fuzz again! I found the adorable keychains on Etsy by Majesty Inc. As for the prize ribbons I’ve included a tutorial!

paperribbon_tutorial

1) Cut out two 1.5″ x 10″ strips of paper and score every half inch on each.

2) Accordion fold the strips at the score marks.

3) Connect the two strips into one with double-sided tape. Then connect the two ends so you have a continuous loop.

4) Cut out two 1″ circles

5) Flatten the loop and squeeze inward so there is no space in the center, next hot glue a paper circle onto the center of the flattened loop. It helps to have a second pair of hands for this step. Repeat for other side.

6) Glue ribbon onto the back side, these can be paper or fabric, whatever strikes your fancy.

To make the Moustache Sticks from above simply print out the template below onto brown paper, cut and glue to a wood skewer! No need to wait until next May, Moustache parties are guarenteed fun year round! Enjoy!

Stache Bash Part I

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Last month was officially Moustache May here in the states. Sixteen gentlemen in my office decided to participate and grow a soup strainer of their own and compete in the first ever HADW Stache Bash. Having recently joined the events committee, I saw the perfect ocassion to have a bit of fun with the event and add a few extra details. Below is the invitation and an official list of all the participants.

On the morning of the event each person in the office was greeted by a ballot and personal moustache at their desk. No reason we couldn’t ALL join in the fun!

This turned out to be such a fun event to plan and celebrate. Stay tuned for more details from the day, the winners and a few DIY tutorials.

It’s a day full of excitement; not only did I announce my new Target adventure but Abby has launched a new site design for Style Me Pretty! I’ve had a chance to browse around a bit and as usual it’s perfectly stunning! Love the new logo and format and the navigation bar at the top has some pretty sweet little details. Be sure to check out my all time favorite blog today and congratulate Abby on the new site!

To celebrate, Abby has posted the latest in the series of favor boxes that I created for Style Me Pretty. Measures 2.5″ x 2″ when folded and designed to fit a few truffles or a small favor. I’m really happy with how this one turned out and hope it can be put to good use. targetIt’s been really hard to keep it a secret but, I am so excited to finally share that my Li’l Tweet Stitch Kits are being featured this month at Target.com! Needless to say we’re thrilled and excited. It’s been our biggest order to date and I’ve included a couple of photos of my husband and I getting them ready to ship out! BIG thanks to the ladies at Packaging Specialties for all their help!
