Matchstick Gardens
May 1st, 2009I was shopping after work when I ran across theseĀ matchstick gardens! All you have to do is plant the match head into soil and ta-da! Micro garden! They come in a variety of herb and wildflower combinations all with their own cute matchbook. I’m half tempted to leave one of these in my pocket and get my Johnny Appleseed on when it strikes my fancy.

I LOVE these! And they’d be perfect for guerrilla art/gardening. It would be so fun to plant some of these in a run-down area of town that needs a little color and life.

The Matchstick Garden is the best idea and so easy for children to use. We recently had a street festival in Melbourne, Australia where the council gave little herb versions of these out for free.

You know I think I saw these somewhere recently, but I can’t remember where. They are really cute and fun and I want to get some. What store did you see them at?

Doh! I should have mentioned this! For all you Seattlites, I found these at Uwajimaya in the international district in the gift / bookstore section.

Would love to see these in person, but they are not in the Midwest. Sad. I like the guerilla gardening idea though! Pls plant one for me!

These are so cute. They may be the inspiration for my daughter’s spring birthday party — next year. Thanks for the post. Link love coming your way.
