Our Winter Wedding Part 3
February 12th, 2009I will be the first to admit that I went a little crazy with all the little extras. But it’s what I love to do, and I had so much fun creating all the little details! Above are the guest room gifts we left for each of our guests in their hotel room. They contained a welcome note, hot cocoa packets, and homemade snowflake marshmallows.
I made coat check tags for guests when they arrived with perforated bottoms. The match books where also custom made by wrapping store bought matches and re-covered with my own design. And finally, sparkler holders in vellum sleeves for the send-off. The white cake with lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream frosting- YUMM! – was made by our dear friend Katie.
The Coat Check Tags and Sparkler Holders are now available for sale in my Etsy shop. And if you’d like to learn how to make the Guest Room Gifts, or the Match Books, I actually made tutorials for Style Me Pretty. Click on each of the links above for purchase information and/or complete instructions.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing our wedding stationary suite!

Thank you for your sweet comments! The homemade snowflake marshmallows were made from a recipe found at marthastewart.com and surprisingly easy to make. Here’s the link to the recipe: http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/marshmallow-snowflakes?autonomy_kw=snowflake%20marshmallows&rsc=header_3

Sadly I don’t know where they’re from, they came with the venue. You might have luck at a restaurant supply store though. Good luck!

I am having a hard time finding that size glassine bag, where did you get yours?

Hi Jessica, I just checked the source that I originally ordered them from and it looks like they’ve discontinued selling them.
I also can’t find another online source for them at the moment but I believe that Packaging Specialties here in Seattle carries them. They do take orders over the phone and can be reached at: 206.762.0540 Hope this helps! If not let me know and I’ll do a little more poking around.

Thanks so much for looking into that for me:) Do you ever sell the template for the sparkler cards? I like to diy, but I have no skills as far as design goes. I would love to have you send these to me (for a fee of course) in my color palette with our names or a message on them. Let me know what you think.

Kathleen, I love you blog. Your DYI’s have so inspired me. I have found the glassine bags from the Style Me Pretty source (www.loopcreations.com) and I have already ordered them. Do you have a template for the inserts or can you give me some tips on making it? I so appreciate it!
