In honor of the Chinese New Year this week I wanted to share some pics of a student project I did way back when (2000-ish). Looking at it now I can see some major mistakes and cringe worthy typography blunders but I still think it was a good project. It was a fun experience for me because I was able to use my design and craft skills together. It was to be an invitation to a lunar calendar exhibit celebrating the Chinese New Year at the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum in NY.

Ahh, to be a student, it’s funny to look back and see what I did. Glad to be through with school and on to new adventures!

Elephant, Bunny
I have a few more stamps to add to my favorites collection. Though these little guys don’t have any postage they certainly are fetching! Perfect for decorating a notebook, sealing an envelope or wearing on a t-shirt. This Japanese sticker stamp collection is sold through Three Potato Four. What fun!

Perfect Pear, Panda, Camera, Whale
More pics after the break. (more…)

I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Prize, a gift and home furnishing store in Ashland Oregon, but I might have to schedule a trip just to stop by! These lovely pictures make me swoon every time I look at them. Oh how I wish my whole house looked like this place!

Lot’s more great pics after the break!

I swear I never, EVER in a million years thought that I would buy my pup clothes, let alone a yellow rain slicker! But something happened to me… her big lovable eyes and her darling personality made me a big softy and spoiler. I have never been so in love with a pet and I have to keep myself from buying her a new toy whenever I happen to be out. My husband surprised me for my birthday and gave me / Tula this sweet little rain slicker from J. Crew. I’d secretly been lusting after it for some time but could never bring myself to actually purchase. Thankfully he was paying attention and surprised me! So here she is ladies and gents, miss Tula in her very own yellow raincoat!

Photographing a puppy turned out to be quite the feat so I included a few out-takes of our “photoshoot”.

Check out this amazing ribbon calendar from D-Bros, designed by Yoshie Watanabe. Sadly it’s no longer in print but we can still admire this lovely piece of art and design.
