New Year’s Streamers

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone has a very special day with friends and family. I came across these wrapping paper streamers via the Martha Stewart’s Craft-of-the-Day link. A great way to use up any extra wrapping paper left over from the holidays and dress up the house for tonight. Full instructions are included in the link.

I am celebrating a belated Christmas with my husband’s family over the next few days so I will be taking the rest of the week off. Best wishes to all and cheers!

Stuffed Dogs

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Being a new dog owner, I am in love with anything dog related. I love these handmade stuffed dogs by Sian Keegan. She even has an Etsy shop where you can send in your own picture of your pup and she’ll create their stuffed portrait! How cute is that?! Here is a sampling of the many stuffed pets she’s made and a link to her Etsy shop. What a great gift idea!

HADW Holiday Card

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I spent the better part of last week designing and printing our company’s holiday card. Considering that I had less than 24 hours to design and order the plates for letterpressing I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

We needed a simple card that could be customized with a personal note and mailed to our clients. The design is a subtle nod to holiday sweaters while celebrating the beauty of letterpress. I did one pattern with snowflakes and another with reindeer. Below are some pictures of the cards.

Sanna Annukka Pakaging

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I’ve been a huge fan of Sanna Annukka’s prints and collateral but it’s her packaging that I drool the most over. I wish all dairy products were this adorable and well designed! Enjoy this lovely collection of her work below.

Easy Pin Cushions

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I have been trying to think of a creative stocking stuffer that I could make this year and give to all my sisters. We all like to sew in one form or another so I thought I could try making pin cushions. What once was a simple gift idea quickly became an obsession. I started out with one pattern that didn’t give me the clean crisp look I was going for so my search continued. After several failed attempts I stumbled on this perfectly easy tutorial on WipUp. Below are pictures of my process and finished pin cushions.

Pin Cushion 1
These really don’t require much fabric so I suggest using fabric quarters; you can make quite a few out of just one swatch. I liked mine on the smaller side so I cut my circles to 3 inches.
